I'm still working out the
kinks with CafePress. When I upload a new
product, I can't "turn it off" until I've received my test sample.
So I was posting a "Buy at your own risk" warning for untested
merchandise. I think I've finally figured out a workaround, but
in the meantime, I've made my first "whoops."
The shirt design for the "Local Psychopath" had a typo. The mug was
fine; it's just the shirt. Very embarrassing.
Worse, a half-dozen customers already bought it. I've been in touch with CafePress to see if there was any way
I can contact these customers. Apparently, no can do.
But they said that they'll replace
shirts for anyone who contacts them. So
if you bought this shirt, please get in touch with CafePress. If you have any problems,
email my assistant, Alison, at:
The store is here: http://www.cafepress.com/KelleyArmstrong
For now, everything is "at cost" meaning I'm selling at the
lowest price CafePress will allow, making no profit.
The products can be seen in the store, but for a better view of the

Currently, we have shirts and mugs. I don't sell my books—I
leave that to the booksellers!
CafePress is far from an ideal solution, particularly for anyone
outside the US. Shipping costs more and you may need to pay
import duties. Unfortunately, there's no better alternative.
If I sold the merchandise myself, I'd need to jack up the prices to
cover wages for filling the orders, process the income/expenses
through my business accounts, pay GST (don't ask), etc. And I'd
need to charge very high shipping costs for anyone outside Canada.
So for the majority of my readers, the merchandise would cost
significantly more.
I've ordered one sample of each design, each on a different product.
That means I've seen each piece of artwork and verified that it
printed as expected. That also means I've tested a sampling of
the products (i.e. the type of shirt/mug) for quality, but have not seen
all of them.
If a design prints improperly, contact CafePress for a replacement.
If you are dissatisfied with the quality of a product (eg. the shirt
itself, not the printed design), contact them for a replacement and
notify me so I can order a sample and review it.
The quote shirts/mugs contain a combination of original and
public domain images. The "cityscape" and "Exit Strategy"
designs include images for which I've purchased the right to
reproduce them for sale. None of these designs may be used
without my express permission.

She can help with questions about the designs, but any questions or concerns about the products
or how to purchase them will have to go to CafePress. We just post the art!
